Breese, IL – The Special Needs Foundation for Community Link extends a heartfelt thanks to Helen Heimann and Dana Korte for their service as members of the Board of Directors. Both have served as president of the all-volunteer board and are retiring after years of service.
Helen Heimann joined the board in 2017 and was elected president in 2021, holding the office through early 2026. As a retired managing director of enterprise and regulatory change management at Wells Fargo, her understanding of business analytics drove tremendous growth for the endowment under her tenure. Even more importantly, her passion for her sister Peggy, a Community Link participant, inspired generosity at the annual galas, which fund the Foundation endowment.
Dana Korte had served as board president through 2021, retired from the board, and returned for an additional term through 2026. As the vice president of finance at Banner Fire Equipment, she brought decades of experience in management and general account to support the endowment and fundraising for the Foundation. She served in support of her brother Sean, a Community Link participant, and always demonstrated compassion for family, including her Community Link family.
“I am deeply grateful to Helen and Dana for the years of service they have devoted to the Foundation,” expressed Bill Hibner, current board president of the Special Needs Foundation for Community Link. “They helped grow the endowment, strengthen our relationship with the community, and keep our focus on the individuals and families we serve. Their commitment has made a lasting difference.”
The Special Needs Foundation for Community Link is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 whose mission is to support developmentally disabled citizens served by Community Link, Inc.
