Pay My Own Way
Community Link’s Community Day Services includes the opportunity to develop skills and behaviors through various contractual work activities at the Breese East and Fairview Heights Metro locations. The program teaches typical work behaviors such as being punctual, following supervisor directions and completing an assigned task correctly and in a timely manner. All work performed is paid either at minimum wage or at a piece rate. A variety of work is provided in a factory-type setting or at local businesses. Work typically is small-part assembly; packing; labeling or janitorial.
Community Day Services also offers participants the opportunity to be a volunteer within their community. As a volunteer, the participant is giving back to their community. The participant may also learn about job interests while volunteering.
For participants wanting community employment, Community Link’s Program Managers will work with that participant to obtain that goal.
