Community Link Thanks Board Members for Service

July 21, 2021

Breese, IL – Mr. Dax Garrison, Mr. William Hibner and Ms. Amanda Oelze have recently retired from the Board of Directors at Community Link due to term-limits. All three had served as a board member since 2015.

With a 15-year career in the banking industry, Garrison is currently employed as the President of the First National Bank of Sandoval. Garrison served as the board president over the last two years and also as the chair of the board’s planning and development committee. He provided tremendous leadership to the organization as it weathered financial challenges, changes in senior leadership and the pandemic over the past two years.

Hibner joined the Board after serving honorably for 25 years in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Colonel in 2013. Hibner is currently employed as the Director of Government Solutions at UNCOMN. Hibner’s service to Community Link originated through Washington University’s Olin School of Business Board Fellow program in 2014-15 before being elected to two terms on the Board of Directors. He has served on and chaired several board committees and was elected as the Board’s Vice-President for the 2019-20 term.

Oelze was the owner and operator of Vibrant Vida Boutique in Lebanon. Oelze served as the Chair of the Board’s Governance Committee and was elected as the Board’s Secretary for the 2019-20 term. Oelze was heavily involved with fundraising and board recruitment for the organization. She notably contributed to the organization’s mission by employing a Community Link participant at her place of business. We wish her much success as she pursues her future plans in higher education.

“We will greatly miss the leadership and experience provided by Dax, Bill and Amanda over the past six years. They all gave their time, treasure and talents without hesitation and steered the organization through some choppy waters over the past few years. We are eternally grateful for all they have given Community Link during their remarkable time on the Board,” stated John Huelskamp, executive director.
