Breese, IL - -Ms. Donna Brauer and Ms. Sandy Harris both retired from the Board of Directors at Community Link in June. Brauer had been a board member since 2017 and Harris since 2014.
With a 27-year history in Early Childhood Education, Brauer acted as Community Link’s Early Head Start Policy Council Representative during her term on the board. Brauer served on the Performance & Oversight and Planning & Development committees. She was also heavily involved with fundraising for the agency and spearheaded many third-party events. She hopes to be welcomed back to the Community Link family after she retires from teaching.
Harris worked as a CPA and has more than 30 years of tax experience working for large corporations. She was elected as Community Link’s Treasurer in June 2015. Harris served on the 2017 Strategic Planning, Planning & Development, Executive and Performance & Oversight committees. Harris and her spouse volunteered at Community Link serving our participants on many occasions—especially our annual Thanksgiving dinner. She has always been a strong supporter of Community Link and we know we can count on her in the future.
“We are disappointed that the board terms ended for both Donna and Sandy. They both gave of their time, treasure and talents without hesitation. We cannot put a price on the passion, devotion and thoughtfulness that both bestowed upon Community Link,” stated Dax Garrison, board president.
