How Will You Be Remembered?
Many people like to leave a gift to charity through their will or trust because they care about the organizations that are important in their lives and they wish to express their values.
Would you consider remembering Community Link in your will or trust, or by beneficiary designation?
With a legacy gift, you can help Community Link do what we do today even better tomorrow!
Community Link Legacy Society
The Community Link Legacy Society recognizes donors with legacy gift plans for Community Link’s future through the Endowment Fund. This voluntary recognition society connects those who love Community Link and want to support it forever. If you are planning to remember Community Link in this way, we invite you to become a member.
The Community Link Legacy Society was developed in 2017 as a recognition program to thank and honor individuals today for the support they will provide Community Link in the future through their estate plans. We recognize these members for helping Community Link to continue its role as educator, employer and provider of residential services for generations to come.
If you would like more information about the Community Link Legacy Society or have already remembered Community Link in your estate plan, please contact the Development Department at (618) 526-3938.

Popular Ways To Give
Wills and Living Trusts - The Easiest Way to Make an Impact
Interested in helping Community Link with our mission but feel overwhelmed by the thought of writing another check or giving up your assets today? A simple, flexible and versatile way to ensure we can continue our work for years to come is a gift in your will or living trust, known as a charitable bequest. A charitable bequest is one or two sentences in your will or living trust that leave to Community Link a specific item, an amount of money, a gift contingent upon certain events or a percentage of your estate.
By including a bequest to Community Link in your will or living trust, you are ensuring that we can continue our mission for years to come.
Beneficiary Designations - Continue Supporting Our Work After Your Lifetime
Are you passionate about supporting Community Link even after your lifetime? It's not only possible it's easy to do with a beneficiary designation. A beneficiary designation clearly identifies how specific assets will be distributed after your death. Just name Community Link as a beneficiary to receive assets such as retirement plans and life insurance policies after you're gone. You simply fill out a form that is entirely separate from your will—which makes this approach an easy way to give.
Not only is it an easy way to give, but it's also flexible—you aren't locked into the choices you make today. You can review and adjust beneficiary designations anytime you want.
Gifts That Provide Income
Charitable Gift Annuities - Turn Your Generosity Into Lifetime Income
When you are looking for ways to help Community Link with our mission, you shouldn't feel like you are choosing between your philanthropic goals and financial security. One gift that allows you to support our work while receiving fixed payments for life is a charitable gift annuity. A charitable gift annuity involves a simple contract between you and Community Link where you agree to make a gift to Community Link and we, in return, agree to pay you (and someone else, if you choose) a fixed amount each year for the rest of your life.)
Not only does this gift provide you with regular payments and allow us to further our work, but when you create a charitable gift annuity with Community Link you can receive a variety of tax benefits, including a federal income tax charitable deduction when you itemize.
Charitable Remainder Trusts - Discover a Gift That Is Truly Win-Win
Looking for a way to give Community Link a significant gift? If you have built up a sizable estate and are also looking for ways to receive reliable payments, you may want to check out the advantages of setting up a charitable remainder trust. A charitable remainder trust provides you or other named individuals income each year for life or a period not exceeding 20 years from assets you give to the trust you create.
Benefits of a charitable remainder trust include:
- Potential for a partial charitable income tax deduction
- Potential for increased income
- Up-front capital gains tax avoidance
There are two ways to receive payments with charitable remainder trusts:
The annuity trust pays you, each year, the same dollar amount you choose at the start. Your payments stay the same, regardless of fluctuations in trust investments.
The unitrust pays you, each year, a variable amount based on a fixed percentage of the fair market value of the trust assets. The amount of your payments is redetermined annually. If the value of the trust increases, so do your payments. If the value decreases, however, so will your payments.
