Community Link Appoints Tabitha Jordan as Director

Breese, IL- Community Link welcomes Tabitha Jordan as its Early Head Start Children’s Program Director. She had previously held the title Interim Director but has recently been appointed as the permanent director. Jordan comes to the position with ten years of experience in the field, and has a long-time connection to Community Link.

In her director role with Community Link, Jordan will oversee all aspects of the children’s programs. This means she will be responsible for the day to day operations of the 0-3 Early Head Start program. Jordan replaces Shelise Zurliene, who resigned as director in July of 2022 for another opportunity. Jordan was appointed interim director in July of 2022 and served in that role until her recent appointment as director was approved as the permanent director.

Jordan graduated in 2012 from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. No stranger to Community Link, Jordan began her employment with the organization in 2016 as an Early Head Start Parent Educator. Jordan was promoted to Early Head Start Coordinator in 2019 and served in that role until her appointment as Interim Director in 2022.

Jordan says “I value all of my service to Community Link in the different capacities over the past seven years and am truly honored by the opportunity to now serve as the director. I look forward to furthering the relationships with the kids and families we support and will work to maintain the high standards that our Early Head Start Children’s Programs have.”

Executive director, John Huelskamp, said, “Tabitha’s vast experience and passion in supporting the kids and families in our children’s programs as well as her high expectations of quality will blend cohesively with Community Link’s Early Head Start program. We look forward to the leadership and expertise Tabitha will provide to this important program.”

Community Link’s Early Head Start program is a no-cost, federally funded, comprehensive home-based program for expectant mothers and for children birth to 3 years old who reside in Clinton County and Washington County in Illinois.
