Community Link has once again joined forces with Excel Bottling Company to create a signature beverage for their Buddy Walk called Sweetest Mile.
“We can’t thank Excel enough for partnering with Community Link for a second year by bottling the Sweetest Mile. This unique soda is our signature drink and will be featured at our 13th Annual Buddy Walk. We appreciate all that Excel does to support Community Link in bringing awareness to Down syndrome and persons with disabilities. It’s a win-win!” stated Barb Nelson, interim executive director of Community Link.
Sweetest Mile, a delicious carbonated strawberry and lemonade soda, was released last week. The name is significant not only to the taste of the drink, but to the most rewarding distance a person can walk. This sacred mile represents the challenges that people with developmental disabilities face and the obstacles that they overcome.
Sweetest Mile can be purchased at Excel Bottling Company, local convenience and grocery stores and at the Buddy Walk. A portion of the sales will be donated to Community Link.
Community Link’s 13th Annual Buddy Walk will be held on Saturday, May 4th at Northside Park in Breese. Go to www.commlink.org/buddywalk for more information or to register for the walk or 5K. Call Community Link Development Director Cindy Timmermann at 526-3938 or email her at cindyt@commlink.org if you have any questions.
