The Sweetest Mile… The most rewarding distance a person can walk

March 29, 2018

Community Link has joined forces with Excel Bottling Company to create a signature beverage for the Buddy Walk called Sweetest Mile.

“We’re thrilled about the new Buddy Walk promotional campaign of Sweetest Mile. This innovative fundraising opportunity with Excel is historic. We truly appreciate everything Excel has done for us and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them,” stated John Huelskamp, Community Link executive director.

Sweetest Mile is a carbonated strawberry and lemonade soda being released this week. The name is significant not only to the taste of the drink, but to the most rewarding distance a person can walk in Breese on May 5th. This sacred mile represents the challenges that people with developmental disabilities face and the obstacles that they overcome.

Sweetest Mile can be purchased at Excel Bottling Company, local convenience and grocery stores and at the Buddy Walk. A portion of the sales will be donated to Community Link.

Community Link's 12th Annual Buddy Walk will be held on Saturday, May 5th at Northside Park in Breese. Check out our Buddy Walk page more information or to register for the walk or 5K. Call Community Link Development Director Cindy Timmermann at 526-3938 or email her at cindyt@commlink.org if you have any questions.
